This September Mark Williams Cycling will be undertaking the most challenging cycling tour to date,taking the Long way North from the harbour town of Tynemouth just 5 miles outside of Newcastle on Tyne to Inverness.
The planned route will consist of 400 miles (643Kilometres) in just 6 days starting from Tynemouth heading north east up the Northumberland coast past Seahouses & Berwick upon Tweed along the tip of the Northumberland national park before crossing the Scottish border into Edinburgh.
Upon departure of Edinburgh the route follows the coastline via Dundee all the way to Aberdeen straight through the heart of the Scottish Highlands which is going to be full of tough climbs before branching north west via Fochabers and the remote Cairngorm moors onto the final push to Inverness.
